Hinsdale Resident Victim Of Gift Card Scam

In another case, police made a DUI arrest after a report of a car on railroad tracks.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

Fraud

  • A resident in the 700 block of South Jackson Street told police Wednesday that a suspect claiming to be with computer technical support instructed the resident to buy gift cards to pay for services over the telephone. The crime was listed as fraud. The case is pending.

DUI

  • A 66-year-old Hillside man was arrested about 1 a.m. Saturday at Stough Street and the BNSF Railway on charges of DUI and improper lane use. He refused testing to determine his blood-alcohol content. Police said they responded to a report of a car that was driven onto the train tracks. The man was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • A 37-year-old Bridgeview man was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of East Ogden Avenue on charges of DUI, failure to signal when changing lanes and improper lane use. The man submitted to testing that indicated his blood-alcohol level was over the legal limit. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
