Hinsdale Residents To Host Sustainability Awards
The Hinsdale-founded Holsten Human Capital Development will honor a man working to help close the financial rehab gap at Lawson House.

HINSDALE, IL — A pair of longtime Hinsdale residents will host an awards ceremony for a non-profit that strengthens at-risk populations by expanding their access to viable resources that promote self-sufficiency, wellness, and stability. Jackie Taylor Holsten is the founder and chair of the board of Holsten Human Capital Development. She and Peter Holsten, CEO of Holsten Real Estate Development, will host the 2019 Community Sustainability Awards, themed “Igniting the Possibilities,” on Friday, Sept. 27 at Gibsons Chicago, 1028 N. Rush St.
“For the past nine years, HHCD has honored individuals who are committed to encouraging, guiding and providing support to the communities and families we serve, while instilling the never-give-up attitude needed to succeed," Jackie Holsten said. "This year, we have chosen to honor Jim Letchinger, Founder & CEO of JDL Development, whose outstanding corporate leadership is igniting the possibilities to help end homelessness. While Jim has developed some of the most elite properties in Chicago, he has not lost sight of those who are challenged.”
“Chicago is a big city but still functions with the small-town principle of neighbors helping neighbors. Jim Letchinger is one of those neighbors. By helping close the financial rehab gap at Lawson House, he is building community and reinforcing hope and the belief that we are all in this together. ARO (Affordable Requirements Ordinances) debates continue, but ending homelessness and helping to create decent affordable housing takes courage and partnerships. HHCD is grateful to count JDL as our neighbor!”
