Hinsdale School Districts Host Final Event in Community Speaker Series

Registration has started for the third and final installment of the 2016-17 Community Speaker Series.

HINSDALE, IL - Registration has started for the third and final installment of the 2016-17 Community Speaker Series. Hinsdale Township High School District 86 and Community Consolidated School District 181 present this event in conjunction with the District 181 Foundation and the Community House.

The event will begin with a screening of the "Screenagers" documentary, followed by a question and answer sessions with the filmmaker, Dr. Delaney Ruston. This two hour event will take place at The Community House in Hinsdale on Tuesday, May 2 at 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, May 3 at 9:30 a.m. Registration is required and can be completed online at www.d181foundation.org.

According to a release from the districts, this series was designed to inform and inspire families about issues in education and parenting.

Event coordinators said the documentary explores family struggles over social media, video games, academics, and internet addiction.

This is the fourth annual Community Speaker Series. This year's series began last October with author Madeleine Levine, author of Fostering Childhood and Teen Success without Compromising Mental Health or Losing the Joy of Learning. The second event in January featured Dr. Kristen Race on Mindful Parenting.
