Hinsdale South Announces 2018 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees
Four inductees have been chosen for this year's Athletic Hall of Fame.
HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale South High School has announced the inductees for its 2018 Athletic Hall of Fame. The formal presentation and induction will take place on Friday, June 22, at the annual Hinsdale South Athletic Club golf outing dinner at the Village Greens of Woodridge.
The school said the 2018 inductees are Bob Cisler, Marie Barda, Mike Hemenway and Tony Lavorato Sr. Here is some information about each inductee.
Bob Cisler, Class of 1987 - Track & Field, Cross Country

- 2-time All-State Cross Country
- 1985, 14th place at State – 14:53
- 1986 11th place at State – 14:42
- In 1986, Cisler led the Hornet Cross Country team to a 5th place team finish, which at the time was the highest team finish in school history.
- State qualifier in track, 3200 meters (9th place at State – 9:20) Best time – 9:14
Marie Barda, Class of 1997 - Softball, Girls Volleyball
- Ranks 10th in IHSA for career strikeouts (1,288)
- Ranks 14th in IHSA for career No Hitters (17)
- Set a state record with 395 strikeouts in 1996; went 22-5 with 0.35 ERA
- Daily Herald DuPage County All-Area Captain (1996-1997); Chicago Tribune All-State (1996-1997)
Mike Hemenway, Class of 1986 – Swimming

- Member of the State Champion/State Record setting 200 Medley Relay – Ranked 6th
- New school record in 200 Medley Relay that still stands in 2018
- All American Honors in 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay in 1986
- Dave Heinen Award for being named All-State in three events
- 1985 Sectional Champion in 200 IM, 200Medley Relay, 2nd in 100 Backstroke
Tony Lavorato Sr., Boys Varsity Basketball Coach

- Physical Education Department Chair 1994-2002 (8 years)
- Assistant Athletic Director 1996-2002 (6 years)
- All-Time Winningest Basketball Coach in Hinsdale South history – 249 Wins
- Regional Champions 1993, 1999
- Big Dipper Tournament Champions 1993
- Organized and successfully ran the nationally recruited 32 team Minuteman Shootout from 1993-2001
