Hinsdale South Students Help Darien Lions Club
10 students from Hinsdale South volunteered their time to make these calls in Spanish.

HINSDALE, IL — Every year, the Darien Lions Club helps local families in need during the holiday season by delivering a holiday meal and gifts for young children. According to the school, many of the families speak Spanish, and the Lions requested help from upper-level Spanish students to make phone calls to these families in order to confirm addresses, contact information, and details regarding the ages and sex of the children to ensure appropriate gifts.
On Wednesday, Nov. 29, 10 students from Hinsdale South volunteered their time to make these calls in Spanish. The school said they met at the Darien Park District building and applied their language skills to complete this task. The students are taught by Heather Alejandro and Amy Piccoli.
