Hinsdale Unveils Design For Park Pavilion
"Generous" benefactors are making the project possible, the village president said.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale has unveiled the conceptual design for the proposed pavilion in Burlington Park.
The hope is to complete the project by June 1, in time for the nation's 250th birthday, which is July 4.
On its website, the village said the design reflects the historic nature and character of the next-door Memorial Building, which houses village offices and the public library.

At Tuesday's Village Board meeting, Village President Greg Hart said the project "reflects what can happen when thoughtful design, community input and private partnership come together."

"I also want to recognize the generous benefactors who are making this possible at no cost to the taxpayer, specifically Hinsdale Hospital, the Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce and Hinsdale Bank & Trust," Hart said. "Their partnership demonstrates the kind of civic investment that keeps Hinsdale moving forward."
A previous village survey found most residents favored building a pavilion at the park.
Last fall, officials estimated the pavilion would cost between $250,000 and $300,000. They said it would be paid for by community contributions, with the chamber of commerce committing $100,000.
Online comments will be accepted on the village's website through Wednesday.
The Historic Preservation Commission will take up the issue at its meeting Wednesday night. The Plan Commission is set to review the design next Wednesday.
