Hinsdale Woman Victim Of Tech Support Scam: Cops

In another case, a local car dealership was defrauded out of money, police said.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the latest reports:

Fraud

  • A resident in the 10 block of South Clay Street told police Monday that someone posing as tech support called the resident and gained remote access to her computer for more than three hours.
  • Land Rover Hinsdale, 336 E. Ogden Ave., told police May 9 that someone made a fraudulent transaction for parts totaling $895. The fraud occurred April 24.

DUI

  • Carlos A. Aguilar-Galvan, 50, of Chicago, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Sunday at Ogden Avenue and Route 83 on charges of DUI, failure to signal when required and improper lane use. He refused testing to determine his blood-alcohol content. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Damage

  • Someone hit and bent a stop sign between Friday and Monday at Oak and Hickory streets. A witness reported hearing the sound of a crash about 10 p.m. Friday. The damage was reported Monday.
