Hinsdale's Virus Case Levels Stay High: Agencies
Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills see no more coronavirus deaths in the last week.
HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills continue to experience big increases in the number of new coronavirus cases, according to county agencies.
As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 2,108 coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic, up 47 in the last week. The week before last, the village also experienced 47 new cases. The numbers are the highest since January.
Meanwhile, Clarendon Hills reached 1,144 coronavirus cases, up 36 in the last week. The week before last, it recorded 42 new cases.

Hinsdale saw no more coronavirus deaths in the last week, with the total at 62 since the pandemic's beginning, according to county agencies. Clarendon Hills' number of deaths stayed the same in the last week, at 13.

As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 120 coronavirus cases per thousand people since the pandemic's beginning. The figure compares to 105 in Darien, 119 in DuPage County, 122 in Elmhurst, 123 in La Grange Park, 130 in suburban Cook County, 131 in Clarendon Hills, 132 in La Grange and 134 in Western Springs.
As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 1,884,744, a 2.7 percent increase from the previous week, according to the state Department of Public Health. The number of confirmed deaths so far is 26,801.
Nationally, 49.7 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported, a 1.7 percent increase from the previous week, according to the Centers for Disease Control. A total of 793,937 people have died from the virus in the United States.
