Hinsdale's Virus Caseload Stabilizes In Last Week
Clarendon Hills, meanwhile, sees a drop in its growth rate of coronavirus cases.
HINSDALE, IL — The number of new coronavirus cases in Hinsdale is stabilizing, while Clarendon Hills saw a decreased rate of new cases in the last week, according to county health authorities.
As of Sunday, Hinsdale had seen 1,166 coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic, up 58 from a week earlier, or a 5.3 percent increase. The previous week's hike was 4.9 percent.
Meanwhile, Clarendon Hills reached 650 cases as of Sunday, up 29 from a week before, or a 4.7 percent increase. The previous week's increase was 6.5 percent.

The number of those who have recovered is unavailable.
Hinsdale saw one more coronavirus-related death in the last week, totaling 56 since the pandemic's beginning, according to county agencies. Clarendon Hills' number of deaths remained the same at 10. Hinsdale's number is largely driven by a coronavirus outbreak at ManorCare Hinsdale nursing home earlier in the crisis.

As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 62.8 coronavirus cases per thousand people. The figure compares to 56.2 in La Grange Park, 59.4 in Darien, 60.8 in Western Springs, 68.2 in DuPage County, 70 in Elmhurst, 71 in Clarendon Hills, 75 in suburban Cook County, 76.9 in Burr Ridge and 83.5 in La Grange (including unincorporated La Grange Highlands).

As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 1,024,039, up 4.6 percent from a week earlier. The coronavirus has claimed the lives of 17,494 state residents.
Nationally, 21.9 million people have caught the virus, up 7.4 percent from the week before. A total of 367,652 people have died from the virus in the United States.
