Home Repair Fraud, DUI: Hinsdale Police

Resident pays man to do $2,000 in home repairs, then man fails to finish work, report says.

HINSDALE, IL — The Hinsdale Police Department released its latest police reports:

  • A resident in the 100 block of North Bruner Street reported hiring a person to do maintenance on a driveway and deck on June 16 and paying $2,000 in advance. The suspect failed to complete the work and the victim has been unable to contact him. The home repair fraud was reported July 10.
  • Johannis R. White, 42, of Carol Stream, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. July 12 at Route 83 and Ogden Avenue on charges of aggravated DUI (third violation), driving with a suspended license, disobeying a traffic signal, transportation of open alcohol and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. His license was suspended from a previous DUI. Police found two solo cups with alcohol inside the car. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
