How Virus Impacts Hinsdale Central, South
One of the schools is seeing a higher rate of coronavirus cases.
HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale South High School is seeing a higher rate of coronavirus cases than its sister school, Hinsdale Central.
As of Friday, Hinsdale South reported 75 students with confirmed cases of the coronavirus, or 5.6 percent of the student body.
At Hinsdale Central, which is nearly double South's size, 88 students had the coronavirus, or 3.4 percent. Both schools had higher rates than Elmhurst's York High, where 2.4 percent of students had the coronavirus.

A total of 21 employees in Hinsdale High School District 86 had the coronavirus as of Friday.
According to the district, 58 percent of South students and 81 percent of Central students are fully vaccinated.
