Jewelry Thefts, Eatery Damage: Hinsdale Cops
Officers took reports of stolen jewelry at a house and a nursing home.

HINSDALE, IL – In the last few days, Hinsdale police handled cases involving jewelry thefts, attempted trespassing at a restaurant, a hit-and-run crash, a DUI and identity theft. Here is information from the latest Hinsdale police reports:
Jewelry thefts
- A resident in the 200 block of South Adams Street told police that jewelry went missing from a desk after he had movers in the house between 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday. The case is pending.
- A resident at ProMedica nursing home, 600 W. Ogden Ave., reported that his wedding band valued at $550 was missing from his room. The theft was believed to have happened between 5:30 p.m. Oct. 25 and 6 p.m. Oct. 26.
Attempted trespassing

- Someone attempted to enter Fuller House restaurant, 35 E. First St., between midnight Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday. An employee reported damage to a deadbolt and a door frame.
Hit-and-run crash
- A woman told police that a man rear-ended her car and left the area about 5:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at Route 83 and Ogden Avenue. The man was described as white, having gray hair and driving an older small white car.
DUI

- Karilu Alarcon, 24, of Broadview, was arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of East Ogden Avenue on charges of DUI and speeding. She refused testing to determine her blood-alcohol content. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
Identity theft
- A resident in the 100 block of East Eighth Street told police Oct. 25 that someone opened a cellphone account and charged about $4,000 in services using the resident's identity. The crime occurred July 25.
- A resident in the 600 block of West North Street told police Friday that someone opened a fraudulent credit card account earlier this year using the resident's identity.
Fraud
- A resident in the 600 block of South Quincy Street told police Wednesday about fraudulent transactions involving his cryptocurrency account. The case is pending.
