Latest Enrollment Numbers At District 181
Private schools are having an effect on numbers, an official says.
HINSDALE, IL — School District 181, which serves elementary and middle school students in Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills, is seeing a drop in enrollment.
At a recent school board meeting, the district reported that its enrollment had fallen 5 percent from the same time last year. Assistant Superintendent John Munch said the decrease is partially due to students transferring to private schools and home-schooling because of the pandemic. Other school districts have reported the same trend.
District 181 now has 3,588 students, down from 3,778 a year ago.
