Leaving Accident, Car Burglaries: Hinsdale Cops
Westmont man crashes into a guardrail and leaves the scene of an accident, police say.
HINSDALE, IL — In the last week, Hinsdale police have handled cases involving leaving the scene of an accident, car burglaries, identification theft, harassment and credit card fraud. Here is the information from the latest Hinsdale police reports:
Leaving accident
- Bayanmunkh Darinchuluun, 42, of Westmont, was cited about 12:30 a.m. Feb. 9 on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Police were called to a report of a car that crashed into a guardrail. The suspect, identified as Darinchuluun, left the car. The incident was near Route 83 and 55th Street. After coming into the police station, he was released and given a date to appear in court.
Car burglaries

- A car parked in a driveway in the 800 block of South Elm Street was burglarized overnight Feb. 10. A garage door opener was stolen. There were no signs of forced entry.
- A car parked in a driveway in the 900 block of South Elm Street was burglarized between 5:30 p.m. Feb. 10 and 8:30 p.m. Feb. 11. The car was rummaged through. There were no signs of forced entry.
Money missing
- A resident in the 1400 block of Burr Oak Road told police that $800 in cash was missing from her house. The theft occurred between 9 a.m. Feb. 8 and 9 a.m. Feb. 9. The victim had workers in her home during that time.
Identification theft

- A resident in the 300 block of Claymoor Road was the victim of identity theft Feb. 1 and Feb. 2. The problem was reported Feb. 10. The suspect was found with fraudulent identification containing the victim's information while the suspect was in the custody of the Glencoe Police Department. The suspect also was reported as using the victim's identity to open a line of credit and buy a Honda CR-V for $23,318.
Suspended license
- Kelly M. Norman, 45, of Justice, was cited at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at 57th Street and County Line Road on a charge of driving with a suspended license. Police came into contact with the suspect when Norman's car was stuck in the snow on the shoulder. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
Harassment
- A person in the 10 block of Garfield Avenue told police that a known suspect left voice messages and made phone calls of a harassing nature Thursday and Friday. The case is pending.
Warrant
- Darryl Hervy Jr., 28, of Chicago Heights, was arrested about noon Friday on a Lombard warrant. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
Credit card theft
- A customer at BP gas station, 149 E. Ogden Ave., swiped her credit card at a gas pump and moved to a different pump when she believed the card reader was not working at 2 p.m. Friday. She later discovered an unauthorized charge of $48.62 on her credit card at BP.
