Hinsdale Residents Celebrate the Holidays by Giving to Others in Need

Hinsdale residents Jennifer Forsythe and Vicki Bush-Joseph help homeless women over the holidays.

The Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR) physicians’ wives, including Hinsdale’s Jennifer Forsythe and Vicki Bush-Joseph (pictured), brightened the holidays by serving a hot meal and donating clothing, coats, toiletries, gift certificates and household necessities to the women at Deborah’s Place in Chicago. Deborah’s Place offers housing, meals, counseling and other services to more than 234 women as a way to help break the cycle of homelessness. The MOR contingent also played games, sang songs and visited with Deborah’s Place residents. This annual holiday event is a favorite for these women in transition– many who are working hard to change their lives by taking college classes, working outside of the home and giving back to others in need.

Deborah’s Place is Chicago’s largest provider of supportive housing exclusively for women and is recognized as an innovative leader among homeless service providers locally and nationally.
