Man Charged With Phone Harrassment, Student With Being Intoxicated at School

A DUI and hit and run were also recently reported by the Hinsdale Police Department.

Harassment by telephone—Eugene C. Ognibene, of 2001 Meyers Rd. in Oakbrook Terrace, turned himself in to the on March 9 after the suspect allegedly made “statements of a harassing nature implying threats” to the safety of his wife, who lives in the 500 block of North Grant Street, between 10 a.m. March 4 and 8:28 p.m. March 7, Deputy Chief Mark Wodka said.

Ognibene, 42, allegedly made 10 calls to the 44-year-old female victim during the above time frame, one of which contained the threatening statements, Wodka said. The suspect was charged with harassment through electronic communication, posted bond and was released to appear in court.

Unlawful consumption of alcohol—A 17-year-old male juvenile of Willowbrook was cited with unlawful consumption of alcohol after he was observed to be under the influence while in school at Hinsdale Central, 5500 S. Grant St., at 11:15 a.m. March 7.

It is not known if the suspect consumed the alcohol on school grounds. He was cited and released to appear in court.

Unlawful gather/consumption of alcohol—A 17-year-old female juvenile from Hinsdale was charged with allowing an unlawful gathering and unlawful consumption of alcohol after police broke up an underage drinking party in the 200 block of South Madison Street at 10:28 p.m. March 9.

The juvenile was released to parent.

DUI—Robert F. McDonnell, of 3324 W. 114th St. in Chicago, was charged with DUI after he was observed to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop for running a red light at Ogden Avenue and York Road at 12:35 a.m. March 12 and failed an ensuing breath test.

McDonnell, 39, was charged with DUI, improper lane use, signal violation, and not wearing a seatbelt. He was released to appear in court.

Hit and run—A witness reported to police that a black Nissan four-door driven by a short-haired white male in his early 30s crashed into the front yard of a neighbor in the 700 block of McKinley Lane at 3:47 p.m. March 7 and then left the scene.

There were tire marks made in the victim’s yard, but no other damage was reported.
