Man Steals Purse From Woman's Car: Hinsdale Cops
Hinsdale police had spoken with the suspect shortly before he committed crime, report says.

HINSDALE, IL — A man is accused of entering a woman's car and stealing her purse near Hinsdale's main train depot last week, police said. Charles H. Thompson, 29, was arrested on a charge of burglary of a car. The incident happened about 9:45 a.m. April 28.
Before the burglary, Hinsdale police encountered Thompson, who indicated he had summoned a cab to get back to Chicago. Not long after, Thompson saw a woman leaving her car near 10 South Washington Street, according to a police news release. After the woman crossed the street, Thompson removed the purse from her car, police said.
Hinsdale police initially could not locate Thompson, but found him 40 minutes later at the Shell gas station at 210 E. Ogden Ave. Witnesses identified him, police said.

Police recovered the contents of the purse under a dumpster at 10 S. Harrison and under the front porch of a home in the 10 block of North Lincoln.
Thompson was listed as homeless. He was still in the DuPage County Jail as of Wednesday, according to online jail records.
