Man Who Died In Clarendon Hills Crash Identified

The pedestrian was in the left lane of Route 83 when a car struck him, police said.

CLARENDON HILLS, IL – Clarendon Hills police on Friday identified the man who they say died after he was hit by a car early Thursday morning on Route 83.

He was Evgenios Katsareas, 30, of Chicago, police said.

About 4:45 a.m., Katsareas was either walking or standing in the left travel lane of Route 83 at the 55th Street bridge when he was struck by the car, according to police.

He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, where he died of his injuries, police said.

The crash is being investigated by Clarendon Hills police and a DuPage County crash reconstruction team.
