The Men of Omaha Beach

Photos and Stories of D-Day

On June 6th, 1944 at 6:40 am, the men of the16th Infantry Regiment, US 1st Infantry Division hit Omaha Beach. And the course of the war in Europe changed.

On Tuesday, November 3rd at 7 pm, the Clarendon Hills Library welcomes Robert Mueller, author of Fields of War: Fifty Key Battlefields in France and Belgium and Fields of War: Battle of Normandy, to re-visit that fateful day with period and contemporary photographs of battle sites, and stories of the brave individuals who stormed the beach that day.
