More Than 100 Cited In Distracted Driving Crackdown
The Hinsdale Police Department put an emphasis on distracted driving throughout the month of April.
HINSDALE, IL – More than 100 citations were handed out during the Hinsdale Police Department's month-long crackdown on distracted driving in April. Of the 114 citations handed out during the crackdown period (April 1 to April 30), all but two were electronic communication device citations. There was also one drug arrest and one citation for expired registration during the time frame.
“Driver distraction is a persistent issue in Hinsdale, and often has life-altering consequences,”
said Deputy Chief Thomas Lillie. “Issuing a citation is a proven way to get motorists to reduce
distracted driving.”
“Distracted Driving Awareness Month may be over, but the Hinsdale Police Department will continue stopping drivers for this deadly behavior,” he added.
