Neighbors Rally for Signage at Hinsdale Cross Streets Where Bicyclist Was Killed

Hinsdale residents want local officials to take control of an uncontrolled intersection that was the scene of a fatal crash last week.

After the local death of a bicyclist, residents are raising concerns about the safety of the Hinsdale intersection in which the fatal crash occurred.

Neighbors are now rallying for signage at Oak Street and Ravine Road — cross streets they say are "uncontrolled" and without stop or yield signs, according to an ABC7 News report. Some are even handing out fliers to encourage residents to meet with law enforcement and village officials to spur the change.

The activity stems from the morning of Monday, Aug. 22, when Pamela French, 55, of Clarendon Hills, was hit by a vehicle while riding her bike through the intersection. She was taken to Hinsdale Hospital and pronounced dead thereafter, police said.
