New: Winter Drive-In Movie at the Clarendon Hills Park District
"Cars" Rolls Into the Community Center on January 7 - Free Family Event
Brr - it's cold outside--let's try and remember the warmth of summer by creating an indoor drive-in movie theatre. The Clarendon Hills Park District will show the Disney Pixar classic film, "Cars" to local families on Saturday evening, January 7 at the Clarendon Hills Middle School. (Please enter through the park district entrance at 315 E. Chicago Avenue.) Watch as Lightning McQueen takes a detour into the slow moving Route 66 town of Radiator Springs, befriending Mater, the Tow Truck and Sally, the Porsche, learning that life is more about the voyage than the outcome of the race. Moms, dads and their children are encouraged to create a cardboard car at home over winter break, bringing their vehicle to this event. (Cars are encouraged, but not required.) Themed activities will begin at 5 p.m., with the movie starting at 5:30 p.m.. This event is entirely free of charge, however, advance registration is required by January 3. All registration is being accepted at the Clarendon Hills Park District, 315 E. Chicago Avenue. Families with an established household account in the Clarendon Hills Park District's Rec Trac System are encouraged to register on-line at www.clarendonhillsparkdistrict.org.
