No Answer On Hinsdale D86 Special Counsel

HINSDALE, IL – The Hinsdale High School District 86 board was set to vote on hiring a special counsel Monday night.

Patch did not attend the meeting, where two closed sessions on personnel issues were planned.

According to the meeting agenda, the board was scheduled to vote on the special counsel after the first closed session.

On Tuesday, Patch left multiple messages with District 86 officials about how the vote came down and who the lawyer is. The officials included the district's spokesman, Chris Jasculca, who is typically quick at responding.

Covino referred questions to Greenspon.

Board President Catherine Greenspon has not returned Patch's messages since taking office nearly two weeks ago.

A special counsel could be hired for some type of investigation. Or such a lawyer could handle a matter because the board lacks confidence in its main law firm, Itasca-based Hodges, Loizzi.

On Tuesday, the board announced in a statement that Prentiss was on a "leave of absence."
