Number Of Hinsdale's New Virus Cases Stabilizes: Agencies

Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills each see one more coronavirus-related death in the last week.

HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills saw increases in new coronavirus cases last week that were similar to those of the week before, according to county health authorities.

As of Sunday, Hinsdale had seen 979 coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic, up by 49 from a week earlier, or a 3.7 percent increase.

Meanwhile, Clarendon Hills reached 528 coronavirus cases as of Sunday, up by 17 from a week before, or a 5.2 percent increase.

The number of those who have recovered is unavailable.

Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills each saw one more coronavirus-related death in the last week, according to county agencies. The numbers of such deaths in Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills have been 49 and nine, respectively. Hinsdale's number is largely driven by a coronavirus outbreak at ManorCare Hinsdale nursing home earlier in the crisis.

The figure compares to 49.6 in La Grange Park, 52.8 in Darien, 55.3 in Western Springs, 60.3 Clarendon Hills, 62.6 in DuPage County, 63.4 in Elmhurst, 68.6 in Burr Ridge, 68.9 in suburban Cook County, and 75.9 in La Grange (including unincorporated La Grange Highlands).

As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 937,909, up 4.2 percent from a week earlier. The coronavirus has claimed the lives of 15,969 state residents.
