Old Clarendon Hills Bar To Be Torn Down: Official
The village wants to check the site for rodents before the demolition.

CLARENDON HILLS, IL – The old Tracy's Tavern is expected to be demolished, with the village identifying numerous code issues.
The village has not issued a demolition permit yet, with the owner working on the disconnection of utilities, Ed Cage, the village's community development director, told Patch in an email last week.
The building is at the southwest corner of 55th Street and Western Avenue.

In an email earlier in October, Cage said the village requested the owner perform an inspection through a pest control company. The village, he said, would send code enforcement to check the site for rodents.
Cage was responding to a nearby resident, David Fulghum, who worried the demolition would send rats scurrying through the neighborhood.

Fulghum noted Chicago's distinction as the nation's most rate-infested city.
"The rule of thumb (is), if you see a rat, there are likely 100 more you didn't see," Fulghum said in an email to Cage.
Whatever the case, Fulghum told Patch, the neighbors want to see the old bar torn down.
Last year, the Village Board rejected a developer's request to build a Dunkin' Donuts with a drive-thru on the site. The village has said the property owner is Dan Aleksic.
The village has notified the owner of what it considers numerous code violations on the site. An official called it a "general blight on the neighborhood."
