When Macy's employees approached Guevara-Muro, he refused to stop, according to a news release from DuPage County prosecutors. He also failed to stop when an Oak Brook officer ordered him to do so, police said.
Guevara-Muro resisted being arrested, so the officer brought him to the ground to be handcuffed, police said.
Angulo-Aparicio left Macy’s a short while later and was arrested, police said.
“For the second day in a row, my office has filed charges against individuals from Venezuela accused of stealing merchandise from a retail store,” DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in the news release.
The other instance was at Kohl's in Elmhurst.
A DuPage County judge denied prosecutors' request to jail the men until their trial. They were released.
