Oak Brook Woman Killed Trying To Cross Train Tracks In Clarendon Hills
A 34-year-old Oak Brook woman was killed trying to cross the tracks.

HINSDALE, IL — A 34-year-old Oak Brook woman was killed by a Metra BNSF train Thursday morning while trying to cross the train tracks, the Clarendon Hills Police Department said. Video shows her attempting to cross the tracks at the Prospect Street crossing while the gates were down right at 7:54 a.m. Thursday.
DuPage County Coroner's Office has identified the woman as Jessica Ing. Ing was transported to Hinsdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 8:20 a.m.
The coroner's office said preliminary cause of death is injuries sustained from the accident. Autopsy results are pending. Police said service on the BNSF line was stopped for a short period and then began running on a delayed schedule due to the ongoing investigation.

According to police, the train that killed Ing was an eastbound train that passed while an additional train was parked for boarding. Public safety personnel were immediately on the scene, as the police were already in the area conducting train safety enforcement for Railroad Safety Week.
