Man Gets Grabby With Girl, 14, on I-294 Near Hinsdale: Prosecutor
Plainfield man was picking up wife's goddaughter for a visit, prosecutor said.

HINSDALE, IL -- There was some back and forth during a bond hearing for a Plainfield man accused of inappropriately touching 14-year-old girl.
Ramon Arceo, 36, appeared before Cook County Judge Kerry Kennedy on a misdemeanor battery charge.
Arceo went to pick up his wife’s 14-year-old goddaughter in the northwest suburbs on July 8 to bring her to their home in the 2400 block of River Bend Lane, Plainfield, for a visit.

As the two rode down I-294, the prosecutor said that Arceo placed his hand on the girl’s thigh and tried to touch her genitals. The girl clasped her legs tightly together and held her cell phone over her private area so he could not touch her.
He continued to drive with his hand on the girl’s thigh the prosecutor said. Arceo got off the expressway at the Hinsdale Oasis. While inside the 7-Eleven store, Arceo allegedly grabbed the girl from behind and thrust his chest and genitals against the girl’s body.

The prosecutor said Arceo continued to walk with the girl clasped to him the whole time they were in the store. When they got back into the car, he allegedly tried to touch the girl’s genitals again and rode with his hand on her thigh back to Plainfield.
Arceo appeared in court wearing his work clothes. His attorney told the judge he was the father of four children and a commercial union painter.
Judge Kennedy set bail at $50,000. He ordered electronic home monitoring but the Cook County Sheriff can’t monitor people who live outside of Cook County. Plainfield is located in Will County.
“You stay away from the girl and her family,” the judge said.
The investigation is being handled by Illinois State Police. Arceo is due back in court Aug. 16 in Bridgeview.
