Police Investigate Suspected Arson at Heritage Hall

The home of the Clarendon Hills Historical Society was left with much fire, smoke and soot damage.

A fire Aug. 16 inside Heritage Hall, likely started by arsonists, left the building, donated heirlooms, office supplies and antique wedding dresses in ruin.

Police are investigating suspects for the arson, which caused an estimated $100,000 in damage to the home of the Clarendon Hills Historical Society, according to the Chicago Tribune.

An incendiary device was thrown onto a shelving unit that contained donated items from a settlers’ home, according to the historical society.
