Police: Semi Driver Fell Asleep at Wheel in Crash Involving 13 Vehicles on I-55
The crash sent six to the hospital early Friday.

A semi truck driver who police said fell asleep at the wheel caused a 13-vehicle crash on I-55 near Summit that sent six to the hospital early Friday, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of I-55 south of 1st Avenue at about 3:40 a.m., WGN TV reports. All six people were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Daily Herald.
Lanes have since reopened on I-55 but motorists should still expect delays, the newspaper reports.
