Political Signs Stolen, Damaged: Hinsdale Cops

A railroad box, a tire and Halloween decorations are damaged, police say.

HINSDALE, IL — For the second week in a row, Hinsdale police handled a rash of political sign thefts. Here is information from the police reports:

Theft

  • A political sign was stolen between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sept. 30 in the 100 block of Maumell Street.
  • A political sign was stolen overnight Oct. 2 in the 400 block of South Stough Street.
  • A political sign was stolen between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Sept. 27 in the 300 block of East Sixth Street.
  • Two political signs were stolen between 7 p.m. Sunday and 5 p.m. Monday from different houses in the 400 block of North Lincoln Street.

  • A political sign was spray-painted overnight Sept. 30 in the 700 block of South Vine Street.
  • A BNSF power box along the train tracks was spray-painted at Hinsdale Avenue and Vine Street. The damage was reported Thursday.
  • Halloween decorations were damaged between 10:30 p.m. Sept. 30 and 5 p.m. Oct. 1 in the 10 block of West 57th Street.
  • A car's tire was punctured between 3 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of East Maple Street.

Arrests

  • Muhammed K. Abusalim, 23, of Hickory Hills, was cited shortly after midnight Oct. 1 in the 100 block of East Ogden Avenue on charges of driving with a revoked license, operating an uninsured vehicle, speeding and unlawful display of registration. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Christian Alexandra Duarte, 26, of Chicago, was cited about 7 p.m. Sept. 29 in the 400 block of West Ogden Avenue on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle and speeding. The suspect was released and given a date to appear in court.

Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
