The Prospect School Peer Mediator program concluded the school year with a celebratory lunch and annual signing of the “buddy bench.” (The "buddy bench" is a tool for students to indicate to their peers that they are looking for a friend to play with during recess.) Ten members of the 5th grade class had been chosen as peer mediators for 2015-16 and were trained in the five-step mediation process, with emphasis on understanding conflict and conflict resolution skills. Throughout the school year, Peer Mediators helped to create a safe and welcoming school environment for all students.
