Purse Stolen, Business Defrauded: Hinsdale Cops

A man takes a purse valued at $1,000 from a local store, police said.

HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the latest reports:

  • A man stole a purse valued at $1,000 between 4:55 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. Saturday at Kelsey's Boutique, 49 S. Washington. The suspect was described as black, having tattoos and braided hair, and wearing beige pants and a multi-colored jacket. The case is pending.
  • An employee at Surwest Corp., 120 E. Ogden Ave., received an error message while attempting to log into a company computer Wednesday. The victim called the phone number on the error message and was instructed to wire money to a suspect's bank account. Listed as fraud, the case is pending.
  • A resident in the 300 block of The Lane told police Thursday that someone used the resident's identity to open a bank account. No dollar loss has been reported.
  • A resident in the 800 block of West Seventh Street told police Saturday that a suspect used the resident's identity to open a bank account. No dollar loss has been reported.
