Raises And Bonuses For Hinsdale D-86 Support Staff
The number of accumulated sick days rises to 350, a nearly 50 percent increase.
HINSDALE, IL — The Hinsdale High School District 86 board on Thursday approved a contract with the union for support staff that includes both raises and bonuses, according to a news release.
The contract is set to run through June 2024.
The pay increases are 2.3 percent in the first year and 2 percent in the second year of the contract. In the third year, support staff are set to get a hike based on the consumer price index, but no lower than 2 percent and no higher than 3.5 percent.

Under the contract, eligible employees will receive annual longevity bonuses of $250 for three to five years of service, $500 for six to nine years, $750 for 10 to 14 years and $1,000 for 15 or more years. Those who earn a four-year college degree are eligible to receive an additional stipend of $1,200, according to the news release.
The accumulation of unused sick days has increased from 240 to 350, a nearly 50 percent increase.

The district's agreement is with the Hinsdale Township High School Support Staff Association.
The district and association released a joint statement: "We want to thank the members of the negotiating teams for their tireless efforts throughout this process. We also want to share that we remain strongly committed to continuing the important work we have done together to advance the district’s mission and vision, uphold our values, and, most importantly, help our students down the path toward their ideal future."
