District 181 and District 86 will hold the second of three 2018-19 Community Speaker Series events.

HINSDALE, IL — District 181 and District 86 will hold the second of three 2018-19 Community Speaker Series events. Registration is now open for "Untangled: Guiding Girls Through Seven Transitions into Adulthood” featuring Dr. Lisa Damour.
According to the districts, Damour draws on decades of experience and the latest research to reveal the seven distinct–and absolutely normal–developmental transitions that turn girls into grown-ups. She will provide realistic scenarios and advice on how to engage daughters in smart, constructive ways.
The districts said the 90-minute program is free and open to all but registration is required. Damour will present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23 in the Hinsdale Central Auditorium and again from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24 in the Hinsdale South Auditorium

“Connecting with our daughters is a key component in the journey of parenthood. Dr. Damour’s knowledge sheds light on the challenges of raising happy and healthy young women, and more importantly, the joy of it," District 181 Superintendent Dr. Hector Garcia said in a release.
The series is presented by District 181 and District 86 in conjunction with the D181 Foundation and The Community House and was designed to inform and inspire families about issues in education and parenting.
