Rock-Throwing Ruckus In Clarendon Hills: Cops

A resident traveled in the suspects' Uber and later chased one of them down, police said.

CLARENDON HILLS, IL – Three people throwing rocks at a basketball backboard prompted a call last week to Clarendon Hills police, public records show.

About 1 a.m. July 16, officers responded to a property damage report near Walnut Street and Coe Road. A homeowner told police that the three people were damaging the resident's backboard with rocks, according to a police report obtained through a public records request.

Shortly after, the resident got into an Uber that was waiting to pick up up the rock throwers, police said. According to the report, the Uber driver drove the resident to the new pickup location at Naperville and Stonegate roads, which is where the resident was able to chase down one of the suspects.
