A Round of Applause: Musical Theatre Kids Returns to the Clarendon Hills Park District
Summer Stars To Take a Bow with Disney's "Aladdin Jr."
Children, teens and tweens ages 8-17 will take a bow this summer at the Clarendon Hills Park District's Musical Theatre Kids program! This six week activity will provide future stars of the stage and screen with the opportunity to sing, dance and act during the months of June and July - culminating with two performances of Disney's "Aladdin Jr." on Wednesday, July 20 and Thursday, July 21. (The Broadway production of "Aladdin" will actually be on a Chicago stage during the first few weeks of class.) The program will meet from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, June 12-July 21. All rehearsals and activities will take place at the Clarendon Hills Middle School. Hinsdale resident Suzanne Andersen is joining the summer staff at the Clarendon Hills Park District to serve as director for Musical Theatre Kids. She has previous directing experience with the PVPN Theatre in Westmont and directed a production of "Suessical Jr." at Westview Hills Middle School in Willowbrook this spring. The program fee for the Musical Theatre Kids is $278.00 for residents of Clarendon Hills and $347.00 for young actors and dancers living in nearby communities. Registration remains open at the Clarendon Hills Park District Community Center, 315 E. Chicago Avenue. Regular business hours at the Community Center are from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.
