HINSDALE, IL — A video shows the theft of a car Sunday afternoon in Hinsdale, according to police. It was later found.

About 2 p.m., a man is seen walking to the unlocked car, looking behind and then driving away. Police said the theft took place in the 100 block of South Vine Street. The car was recovered Monday morning in the East Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago.

As the winter months approach, police said, it is not uncommon to see cars left unattended or left running for a number of reasons such as warming up. In the latest case, the keys were apparently inside because the man immediately started the car.
