See Video: Man Steals Car At Hinsdale Gas Station
The man took a woman's car while she was pumping gas, the video shows.

HINSDALE, IL – A man is seen on video sneaking toward a woman's car in Hinsdale as she pumps gas. He then stole the vehicle.
The theft of the 2019 Acura SUV occurred about 11 a.m. Monday at BP gas station, 149 E. Ogden Ave., police said.
While the woman pumped gas, the man crouched as he walked across the station's lot. He opened the woman's unlocked passenger door and then entered.

He waited for the woman to finish. When she returned the nozzle to its mount, the man closed the driver's side door and drove off. The woman chased him for a few steps. Police said he then headed north on York Road.
The man parked a dark SUV at a nearby pump about a minute before the theft, police said.

The man was described as black, in his 20s, and wearing black clothing and a black hood.
"We recommend that you turn off your vehicle when fueling and be aware of your surroundings," Hinsdale police said in a social media post. "Similar cases have occurred in the greater Chicagoland area."
