Service Workers Behind Hinsdale Thefts?

Police reports note the presence of a caregiver and cleaning service during time of thefts.

HINSDALE, IL — Items were stolen from two Hinsdale houses in recent times, with police reports indicating that service workers were present when the thefts happened.

In one case, several items were stolen from a house between Jan. 1 and July 17 in the 10 block of North Grant Street. Taken were an I-Pass transponder, a passport and a box containing miscellaneous pieces of jewelry. The victim told officers that workers from a cleaning company had access to her house, a police report said.

According to another report, a raincoat and clothing were stolen between July 9 and July 15 at a house in the 200 block of Mills Street, police said. The resident said she had a caregiver in her house during the time of the thefts, the report said.
