Pay it Forward This Summer!!!

The Clarendon Hills Park District has some interesting, rewarding and fun options for tweens and teens hoping to earn some much-needed service hours over the summer. Two projects have been scheduled during the month of July, allowing students an opportunity to pay it forward over vacation! The first event will be held between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m on Saturday, July 15 at the Lyman Woods Nature Center, 901 31st Street, Downers Grove. Students ages 12-17 will spend the day with other teens on a work day at this nature center which offers 135 acres and two miles of beautiful trails. There is a $5.00 resident fee ($10.00 non-resident) to participate in this activity; please register at the Clarendon Hills Park District by July 8. This program will be supervised by members of the Clarendon Hills Park District's recreation team. Please keep in mind that drop off and pick up will be at Lyman Woods. The second teen service project will be held between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 31 at SCARCE (School and Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education.) This activity is open to participants ages 11-17 and will involve sorting shipments of recyclables including books, buttons, crayons, electronics and more. The $5.00 resident fee ($8.00 non-resident) includes transportation and supervision; please register by July 24.
