The Lane School Student Council led a school-wide service project “Pennies For Paws" to benefit the Hinsdale Humane Society. The Hinsdale Humane Society is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to the care and adoption of homeless animals. Students were asked to bring in spare change throughout the month of April and in the beginning of May to support the cause. “The students were so generous in their donations,” notes Student Council Sponsors Jennifer Pierson and Chris Feeney. “We were overwhelmed by the success of the collection. It just goes to show that we can donate change to make a change!" In total, The Lane School was able to raise more than $2400. Kim Iffert of the Hinsdale Humane Society visited The Lane School during an assembly on May 22 to share her thanks on behalf of the staff and animals and present students with a trophy and certificate.
