In a recent news story concerning the Westmont Village Manager being arrested for DUI in Clarendon Hills this Week, I find it troubling that the local news sources failed to report the story within the story.
In this case the Village of Westmont said it was a "private" matter and would be handled the way it normally does in these situations, with "confidentiality". Hmmm, that is far from how The Fire Chief was treated when he was in a similar situation.(note, the Fire Chief was fully exonerated)
The Fire Chief was publicly thrown under the bus by The Village of Westmont (and yes this same Village Manager arrested for dui) before his day in court. The Fire Chief was placed on administrative leave and ordered to turn in his keys to public building and ordered not to set foot in the firehouse.
if it was fair then, it is fair now. I call on the Village of Westmont to either, be consistent and treat the Village Manager the same way as the Fire Chief, or issue a public apology to The Chief. also if they could tell how and where he can go to get his reputation back, that would be helpful.
