Theft, Car Burglary: Hinsdale Cops

Jewelry was stolen from a bedroom closet in a house, with workers suspected, police said.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Wednesday. Here is information from the latest Hinsdale police reports:

Theft

  • A resident in the 100 block of East First Street told police Nov. 8 that jewelry was stolen from a bedroom closet. The resident said workers had been inside her house. The case is pending.
  • A known suspect stole two cartons of cigarettes about 3:30 a.m. Sunday at Shell Food Mart, 210 E. Ogden Ave. The case is pending.
  • Two bottles of cologne were stolen about 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Bluemercury cosmetics store, 21 E. First St.

  • An unlocked car was burglarized about 7:30 a.m. Thursday in the 700 block of Justina Street. Someone rummaged through the interior.

Trespassing

  • A 34-year-old Willowbrook woman was arrested about 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Hinsdale hospital, 120 N. Oak St., on a charge of trespassing. Police said she refused to leave after hospital staff discharged her. She was released and given a date to appear in court.

  • A 21-year-old La Grange Highlands man was arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday in the 10 block of East Ogden Avenue on charges of DUI, speeding, disobeying a traffic signal and improper lane use. He submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • The driver of a car that hit a tree about 10 a.m. Friday at Madison Street and Hinsdale Avenue was suspected of DUI. The person submitted a blood sample. Charges are pending the results of a lab report.
