'They're Back!!!!' Hinsdale Cops Warn
The local department expects a rise in car thefts, based on experiences in other towns.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police say they are expecting more car thefts, based on what is happening in other DuPage County towns.
Hinsdale police reported two car thefts in August and none in September.
On Tuesday, the local department issued a news release titled, "They're Back!!!!"

"The pattern of vehicle thefts from residential driveways and garages has recently spiked in Eastern DuPage County," police said in the release. "Offenders look for unlocked cars in driveways where the FOBs have been left in the vehicles and in many cases will use a garage door opener from an unlocked car to search the cars in the garage as well."
Police said residents should lock their cars and remove their key fobs every night.

If residents see someone suspicious, they should call 911 and not confront the person, police said.
Police said residents should look for groups of people walking up and down driveways in the middle of the night checking car door handles.
