Two DUI Arrests Made During Hinsdale Holiday Enforcement

The additional traffic enforcement took place over the holidays from Dec. 17 to Jan. 2.

HINSDALE, IL – The Hinsdale Police Department conducted additional traffic enforcement over the holidays from Dec. 17 to Jan. 2. The department said the effort reminded motorists to drive sober and buckle up as part of the Illinois Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement.

The Hinsdale Police Department joined the Illinois State Police and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois to reduce motor vehicle crashes, injuries and deaths by arresting impaired drivers and issuing seat belt and other vehicle code violations.

During the enforcement, the Hinsdale Police Department said it issued: four seat belt citations, two DUI arrests, one felony drug arrest (charges pending lab results), one uninsured motorists, 18 speeding citations, two drug arrests and five other Illinois Vehicle Code violations.

“Our officers are committed year-round. If you drive impaired, you will be arrested,” Deputy Chief Thomas Lillie said in a release.

The Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement effort is funded with federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
