Unlocked Car Burglarized In Hinsdale Neighborhood
A wallet was stolen during the daytime break-in, authorities said.

HINSDALE, IL – In the last few days, Hinsdale police handled cases involving a car burglary, vandalism, porch piracy and DUIs. Here is information from the latest Hinsdale police report.
Car burglary
- An unlocked car was burglarized between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Oct. 21 in the 600 block of North Grant Street. A wallet was stolen. The burglary was reported the next day.

- A person was seen on surveillance video stealing packages about noon Thursday at a house in the 500 block of South Lincoln Street.
Vandalism
- Someone spray-painted graffiti on a building between Oct. 20 and Oct. 22 in the 300 block of West Chestnut Street.
DUI

- A 22-year-old Franklin Park man was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at Ogden Avenue and Route 83 on charges of DUI, improper lane use, driving an uninsured car, expired registration and obstructing an officer. The man refused testing to determine his blood-alcohol content. The man was charged with obstruction because he refused to comply with booking procedures. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
- A 29-year-old La Grange Park man was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Ogden Avenue and Washington Street on charges of methamphetamine possession, DUI, no valid driver's license (never issued), improper lane use, possession of open alcohol, failure to signal when changing lanes and driving a car with a suspended registration. Police said they were called about a report of a reckless driver. The man had two open beer bottles. He submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
Warrant
- A 20-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of East First Street on a DuPage County warrant. Police said they were called because the man was walking into traffic. He was taken to the Woodridge police station for service on the warrant.
