Walker, Madison students earn poetry awards

Contest open to ELL students throughout the state

English Language Learners at Madison and Walker elementary school are winners in the Elementary Poetry Contest sponsored by Illinois Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

Winners who will be recognized at an awards ceremony in Lisle on April 20 are:

Newcomer Award of Merit: Zhuoyan Chen, Madison School

The contest is open to all Illinois ELL/bilingual students in grades 2-5 throughout Illinois. Grade level winners were chosen in five different categories of poems.
