Walker Stolen From Church Volunteer, Heroin At Hospital: Cops

The following information is from the Hinsdale Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Theft

An unknown suspect stole copper wire valued at $1,500 at RML Specialty Hospital, 5601 S. County Line Road between 3:45 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Sept. 10. The suspect was observed on surveillance camera loading the copper wire into a light colored pickup truck. The suspect was described as a white man in his early 30’s with brown hair.

A victim reported that she left a bag in the Dunkin' Donuts parking lot at 150 E. Ogden Ave. between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sept. 11. She returned to the parking lot after she realized she had left it and was unable to find the bag. The bag contained a Lego set valued at $25, two purses valued at $100 each, a t-shirt valued at $20, a bottle opener valued at $15 and a bracelet valued at $75.

An unknown suspect stole five Hydrangea plants, valued at $20 each, that the victim had planted in the ground near the end of her driveway in the 400 block of East Chicago Avenue between 10 p.m. on Sept. 14 and 12:41 p.m. on Sept. 15.

A victim dropped off a rollator, valued at $300, and gardening equipment to do yard work she volunteered to do at Unitarian Church, 17 W. Maple St. at 11 a.m. on Sept. 14 and when the victim returned after parking her car, the rollator was gone.

A victim reported prescription medication was stolen from her purse while she was working at Zazu Salon, 18 E. Hinsdale Ave. between 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 11. The victim reported her purse was left unattended in a room near the front of the store.

Possession Of A Controlled Substance

Nurses at Hinsdale Hospital found a suspected controlled substance in a patient's belongings at 1:12 a.m. on Sept. 12. Police collected plastic bags containing a while powdery substance suspected to be heroin.

DUI

Police were dispatched to a single car vehicle crash with injuries. at Route 83 and Hinsdale Avenue at 7:49 p.m. on Sept 15. The suspect was observed to be under the influence of alcohol. Police located a plastic bag containing a brown powdery substance suspected to be heroin. The suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
