Wallet Stolen From Hinsdale Shopper; Unauthorized Charges Later Reported

HINSDALE, IL – In recent days, Hinsdale police handled cases involving theft, porch piracy, DUI and forgery. Here is information from Hinsdale's police reports:

Theft

• A woman shopping at Whole Foods, 500 E. Ogden Ave., told police that someone stole her wallet Sept. 21. She reported unauthorized charges on her credit card, which was in her wallet. The case is pending.
• Two chainsaws were stolen from the bed of a landscaping truck Monday in the 600 block of West Hickory Street. The case is pending.
• Someone stole a bicycle between 8:20 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Monday from along the street in the 500 block of South Grant Street.

Porch piracy

• Someone stole a package on a resident's porch about 11 a.m. Thursday in the 5500 block of South Oak Street.

DUI

• A 52-year-old Chicago man was arrested at midnight Sept. 13 at 55th Street and Interstate 294 on charges of DUI, speeding and improper lane use. He submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Forgery

• A resident in the 600 block of West Hickory Street told police that someone stole a mailed check from the resident and altered its amount and payee information. This occurred between Sept. 3 and Sept. 21. The case is pending.
